In Myth, Aphrodite is a fertility goddess. Perhaps originally oriental, she is strongly associated with cyprus where she is said to have come ashore from the sea. In some myth she married Hephaestus, craftsman to the gods. In other myth she partnered with Hermes, the ancient god of magical stone, a herald in human form. These associatipns of  creativity , craftsmanship and stone seem apt to our company.
